    Responsibilities

    • Develop and maintain University's existing database and server infrastructure and design new solutions to meet the University's business and academic demands.
    • To create new innovative applications and systems to enhance University's IT Solutions.
    • Lead the installation, configuring and development of the database infrastructure with any supplier utilised by the University.
    • Lead the design and planning of all enhancements, putting forward proposals for major enhancements to the Director of IT Services.
    • Lead the response, support and resolution of Infrastructure related incidents and non-project requests.
    • Manage, maintain and support University's e-Learning platform and develop customised plugins and modules to aid the University's e-Learning needs and integrate the LMS with other University support and information systems.
    • Support Customers and contribute to Customer development, technology clinics, promotional and Customer induction and education activities as appropriate.
    Recent Work
    • Upgraded the University's e-Learning platform Moodle from version 2.1 to version 2.8. Integrated the platform with Student Information System and Library Catalogue Management System. Increased stability and uptime to 99.82% (from 73%). Implemented a secure and consistent data backup and recovery management solution.
    • Designed and developed University's mobile applications for mutliple platforms using PhoneGap
    • Developed a bespoke CRM system to manage student recruitment for internal posts.
